Why did my TikTok views suddenly drop?

Look at whether it started with one video or across all of them. A single video failing its test audience is normal and says nothing about the account; every video falling at once usually points at a change in what you are posting or how long people stay.

Does the algorithm punish accounts for posting too often?

No, but you can compete with yourself. TikTok scores videos individually, and posting five in a day means five videos splitting the same audience during the hours they are being tested.

How long should a TikTok be?

Long enough to hold and no longer. What matters is the share of it people watch, so a twenty-second video watched to the end beats a sixty-second one abandoned at fifteen.

Do hashtags matter on TikTok?

Far less than the spoken first line and the on-screen text, both of which TikTok reads to decide who to test the video on. Dialect in the first sentence does more for country targeting than any hashtag.

Is it worth posting at a specific hour?

The hour decides the first test audience, and that is real — but only for the first window. After that, retention carries the video regardless of when it went up.
